  • Overview

This presentation is presented for informational purposes only. No content herein is intended to be a substitute for prompt assessment and treatment by experts trained in crisis management, depression, and the diagnosis of suicidal thoughts or behavior. This presentation contains important, but sensitive subject matter that may be emotionally challenging. Viewer discretion is advised. Suicide claims 30,000 lives each year. It is a tragedy that, sadly, impacts the pharmacy and medical professions at significantly higher rates than general population statistics. It is a phenomenon that is poorly understood both socially and professionally. This session seeks to explore the core elements of suicidal thoughts and behaviors and identify expert recommendations for preventing tragedies within individual communities. The session will additionally evaluate risks of specific medications that carry warnings for suicidal thoughts and behaviors.
