  • Overview

Most drugs that are commonly abused are federally controlled drugs, restricting their use. However, there are a number of prescription drugs and over-the-counter drugs that theoretically don't have abuse potential but are taken non-medically due to their psychoactive effects. The misuse of these drugs can lead to overdoses and other complications. This presentation will review the non-controlled drugs that are abused and the toxic effects associated with their misuse.
