Updates in HIV Treatment and Preventions: A Focus on LGBTQIA+ Health

LGBTQIA+ patients face a considerable number of challenges when it comes to obtaining proper HIV care. This session aims to deepen the understanding of HIV, with a particular focus on its impact within the LGBTQIA+ community. The session will explore the critical role of new antiretroviral therapy (ART) in managing HIV, helping reduce morbidity and mortality. Lastly, we’ll highlight how pharmacists can make a significant difference by offering expert guidance on HIV prevention, playing a pivotal role in reducing the spread of the virus.

This course has been approved by the Florida Board of Pharmacy to fulfill the 1.0 hour of HIV continuing education for Florida pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
