From 503A to 503B: A Regulatory Look at Compounding Pharmacy

This program will introduce general compounding standards to attendees. The CE activity will cover the basics, from identifying pharmacies as 503A or 503B compounders, to the USP 795 and 797 standards. Additionally, the session will cover what compounds can be created by these pharmacies, with some emphasis on when commercially available products may be compounded at the individual pharmacy level. Finally, the activity will look at common legal issues in compounding and the means and steps pharmacies can implement to avoid these pitfalls.
