Weight loss medications and supplements have been used for decades. However, despite their age and ubiquity, these medications can still be dangerous. Adverse effects can range from nausea and vomiting to excessive fullness, to intracerebral hemorrhage, cardiomyopathy, liver failure, and even death. This course will assist health care practitioners in recognizing poisoning symptoms due to approved and unapproved weight loss supplements, as well as forming a treatment plan to assist patients quickly and effectively.
