Beyond the Classroom: Special Considerations in the Geriatric Population

As healthcare providers, we care for an increasingly aging population. According to the World Health Organization, by 2030, 1 in 6 people in the world will be aged 60 years or older. The number of persons aged 80 years or older is expected to triple by 2050. It is important for health care providers to understand the unique principles and challenges involved in the care of older adult patients. This Beyond the Classroom session will cover a diverse variety of topics related to care of older adults. As with all Beyond the Classroom discussions, participants will be able to interact directly with expert panelists in real time.
