Addressing the New Epidemic of Loneliness and Isolation

This session seeks to expose pharmacists to the 2023 Surgeon General’s report on the physical and psychiatric impact of loneliness and isolation. These negative impacts can result in significant risk of serious adverse health outcomes, however pharmacists, can assist in mitigating these risks. This course will provide an overview of the impact of loneliness and isolation and interventions that can be made by healthcare professionals and underscore the importance of focused efforts to reverse this epidemic.
