    • Overview

While oral anticoagulants are remarkably effective in the treatment and prevention of thrombosis, their use is associated with a risk of serious and life-threatening bleeding. While a number of specific reversal agents for direct oral anticoagulants have recently been approved for use in the US, many questions remain regarding the selection, administration, and management of these products in actual clinical practice. This program uses a case-based format to review the recently published guidance document on reversal of direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) from the Anticoagulation Forum and utilizes an expert panel discussion to address important questions facing health systems and clinicians that care for patients prescribed oral anticoagulants.
